    Section-A

1.      Discuss the different types of Research Designs. Explain the purpose of each of the     research designs.

2.      A company providing services in the BPO sector is seeing a considerable amount of attrition among its employees. The company is interested in reducing the level of attrition as the cost of recruiting new employees is adding to the burden of its overall     cost. Discuss the management problem and what could be the different research problems that the firm is likely to look at.

3.      Discuss the need for a Focus group Technique in collecting qualitative information. How     does it differ from Depth Interview?

4.      a.      Distinguish between Primary and Secondary Data.

           b.      Discuss the different ways in which primary data can be collected. Discuss the
        merits and demerits of each way.
               
SECTION-B
Case Study
The real estate boom seen in the past few years has suddenly come crashing and yet the prices of mid size flats for the middle class has gone up considerably. This is a confusing situation that while the demand for houses is low yet the prices are high. One of the real estate companies is interested understanding what factors would help it to grow in the market. The company has been following high level of ethical practices like providing legal land rights, using material of the correct quality, and timely possession of the premises to its customers. However, the price offered by the company is only slightly higher than those of their competitors. They also feel that this type of business is more in the nature of word of mouth and hence have not resorted to advertising in any great level though low of advertising is being adopted.

Case Questions:

1.      Develop a set of research questions for the problems that the company is facing?
2.      Develop a suitable sampling plan for conducting research to answer the above     questions.
3.       Develop a suitable questionnaire for answering the above research problems.
